Brian was born in London, England, to an Irish father and a Welsh mother. His family moved to Australia in 1952, when he was just three years old, but he found them! (Just kidding). He grew up in Geelong, Victoria, Australia, and after a stint in the Australian Regular Army, did much traveling around Australia. In his travels he did whatever work was available, from picking tomatoes in South Australia, to working professionally as the lead singer in a popular band in the West.
Brian later worked as a freelance and commercial photographer and as a musician, playing ryhthm guitar and singing solo in the Cafe set around New South Wales, and later in Victoria with a number of small two and three piece combo's. He was also a prolific songwriter, but like so many others in songwriting, was always a little out of step with what was commercially viable.
Brian gradually moved out of music and photography, taking these skills into computers, including graphic design, web site design, copy writing and sound recording. He attained his Diploma of Multimedia at the Gordon Institute of TAFE in Geelong. He then set up his own sound recording studio, specializing in spoken audio for clients including hypnotherapists and authors who want audio books. This still operates on a small scale.
While all this was happening, Brian took an interest in Physical Therapies, and after graduating from the Australian Institute of Health Sciences, he now works as a Remedial Massage Therapist. He operates his own practice in Geelong, and in his spare time, runs his sound studio, designs and builds websites, and of course enjoys writing. |
